The installation of a GPS car tracking system will enable you to follow the movement or check the location of any car fitted with the device. There are two forms of car tracking devices; passive and real time GPS tracking.
The speed, direction and vehicle status is logged by passive devices. This information is stored on a memory chip. It can be retrieved at a later date and analysed as form of monitoring the performance of the driver or to help to optimise the route that must be taken.
Using a satellite link to the global positioning system database, real time devices can signal the location of the vehicle every five minutes. This information can be accessed by the user via the internet. It provides accurate positional data for any automobile that has had the relaying device installed.
There is a vast number of different uses for GPS trackers.
2. Security businesses can verify the location of staff and their corporate vehicles, perfect for companies in that banking and financial industry.
2. To manage fleet vehicles, vans, lorries, buses and cars, including couriers, taxis and ambulances.
3. Monitoring rental vehicles by checking the mileage and the location of these vehicles for pick-up.
4. Ideal when used by customers and companies to track the delivery of parcels from couriers and delivery vans.
5. Tacking the movements of personal vehicles and aiding in their recovery when stolen.
6. Insurance companies or sales personnel to monitor mileage and locations.
7. As well as the location of emergency response crews, whether rescue, security or medical teams.
There is also the potential to connect a “help and panic” button to the device which will relay an alert in the event of a breakdown, sudden problem or security issue. This will initiate a response team.
Passive systems offer less responsiveness and work best for recording the journey of the vehicle over the course of daily or weekly trips. The log speed, time and direction, but the data remains inaccessible until after the retrieval of the memory chip.
These types of GPS devices are used both as open monitoring systems for company performance and statistics and as part of covert undercover, surveillance jobs where tracking an individuals movements or a cars journey is important. In either case the devices are small and unobtrusive and easily concealed within the body or underside of a vehicle. These can be simply traced with a simple call from a mobile phone and the GPS tracker will send a message back broadcasting its position.

It seems that you can control your car with the help of an iPod. Recently, Jonathan Oxer has presented his latest invention in the field, a program witch permits him to control from great distances a car, with the help of an iPod touch. Jonathan has written some books over his carrier and had a good collaboration with several technological publications.
His application is an astonishing piece of technology, as he managed to include Dyno functions like speed reading, fuel level reading, temperature, engine throttle and so on with remote control functions like closing or opening doors and starting the car. The software it’s linked to a GSP and can offer full control regardless of the location, as it used Google Maps to localize the vehicle.
Your car has to be computerized. This means you will connect an in-car laptop to the car’s computer and connect a 3G modem to the laptop. This procedure allows the iPod to stay always connected to the car, Even if you are located in a different part of the world, you will still be able to view and control your car via iPod means. It sounds a bit strange and also unsafe, since any new software programs that’s using GPS seems so easily available to hackers, and since the program basically controls your car, you have to wonder what would happen if someone does manages to break into it.
You have to consider safety and accuracy before getting something like this for your car. But if by any chance it becomes something huge you will also need a iPod fm transmitter charger so that the functionality of the device is truly around the clock. It would be too funny to use such a sophisticated program and run off battery on the iPod.
Just thinking of this new addition to the market makes you wonder. How would’ve though the world would go so ahead of its time with iPods? It’s truly amazing that something like this is possible, but also a little scary since there’s no telling where the technology might lead us tomorrow.

Electronics in general are usually are an expensive purchase, and this is true for car electronics. Many people shop in their regular electronic stores for their needs, but shopping wholesale may be the next best thing because they can offer significantly cheaper prices. The places to look for wholesale dealers is online or in the community for local dealers.
The car can be souped up with some of the best electronic gear. Even if one is buying just one product, it is good to know several things before making a purchase. There are many different brands. It is important to know what quality one is looking for. Wholesale does not mean lower quality. It is still trying to buy top quality at more realistic prices.
The first product is an in-dash CD/DVD multimedia A/V receiver with 7-inch widescreen display. If bought at regular price, it would be $1200. On wholesale it would be $650. This gives the buyer a 40% savings. This should be compared to a sale price at a regular store then the savings can be further evaluated.
Evaluating more car electronics, the most common type of electronics is the car stereo. Most everyone likes to listen to some tunes while they are in their car, and car systems are always evolving with new products. Most new cars come with a multi-CD changer, and MP3 receivers are becoming more common. Speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers are additional purchases. Depending on what you are buying these can go for $99 to $339 wholesale.
The next thing people might want is a car video package. Many people think they would like this because it can serve a lot of purpose in their car. It is good for a long trip, or toddlers in the back seat might need something to keep them calm. They can purchase wireless headsets, too. Wholesale prices can be between $600 and $1299.
Another great invention is the navigation system which is used by many people today. It prevents people from getting lost, and it is a great gadget to have. Depending on the brand purchased and the extra features the navigation system bought, prices may range from $99 to $369. Portable GPS systems are also sold.
Some people are very concerned about getting caught speeding on the interstate so purchasing a radar dectector might be a product of interest. The price range is high on these from $349 to $1499.
There is such a large selection of car electronics that a thorough search should be don to find the best product for your needs. Different brands have different features even though it is a similar product. Once someone knows what products they want, they should start looking at prices. They can go to their regular electronics store at start from there. Sometimes, their regular store has very good prices, and the service might be what they are happiest with. However, checking out the wholesale prices may end up being the best deal. These are still the same brands being sold. There are many places to get wholesale deals. Online sites provide many good incentives to buying from them, or local dealers may provide the best prices. It is dependent on the buyer, but a good price is always worth taking.

Do you feel that you are constantly being charged unfairly huge sums of money on your car insurance? From your conversation with fellow motorists, does it always emerge that you are being charged higher car insurance premium rates than almost everyone else you ever talk to?
To understand why it is that car insurance premium prices vary from person to person, we have to appreciate the basic fact that insurance is supposed to be a ‘hedge’ against the risk of car accident (and perhaps car theft and similar risks). Now in working out what to charge the various people who seek to buy car insurance from them, car insurance providers try to work out what the probability of the different people suffering the different events they are insuring against, especially the road accidents is, with the people who are at a higher risk of suffering from the same being charged for more car insurance than people who are at a lower risk of suffering the events they are taking car insurance against.
And in working out your ‘risk profile’ car insurance providers in turn look at a number of factors.
Your road-usage record, and conduct with regard to the ‘highway code’ is one of the factors that car insurance providers look at in working out what to charge you. If you have a record of being ticketed almost every month for one or another road-usage offence, it should not come as a surprise when you find your car insurance bill getting higher every passing year, while people with better ‘road usage’ records get charged lower car insurance premiums.
If you drive a car whose model has been associated with a higher frequency of road accidents or more gruesome road accidents, chances are that you will have to pay higher car insurance premiums than a person driving a ’safer’ car - all the other factors held constant. If you drive a ‘high’ risk car, though, but take measures to make it safer - by way of installing air bags, anti-lock brakes and so on, you could find insurers more willing to offer you car insurance at better rates.
Younger people, perhaps due to hormonal action or ’sheer lack of wisdom’ have been noted to be - on average - much more ‘reckless’ drivers, with older drivers being considered ‘lower risk’ profile drivers. It should therefore not come as a surprise when all things held constant, your friends who are above 50 years of age end up being charged lower car insurance premiums than you, if you happen to be below 50.

Removing the window tint from your car windows may sound pretty straightforward and for the most part, it is. However, it can often be more time consuming than putting the tint on in the first place.
If you would like to remove the window tint yourself, be sure to do it on a day where you have plenty of time. There is more to the job than just getting the old tint off of the windows. Provided that the tint was put on the right way, it is not necessarily going to come off easily. You will want to have all of the supplies on hand that you need to do the job before you start trying to remove your window tint.
Ideally, you would do this on a sunny day, since the heat will help the tint come off more easily. If the tint is put on properly, this job could take some time, so try to do it on a sunny day which is not too hot to be outside for several hours.
Most tint has two layers, one of which will be relatively easy to get off while the other will be quite difficult. It is essential that you attempt to remove both layers together otherwise you will be stuck picking away at the second layer, possibly for hours. It is extremely important to note that back window tint is stuck on the defrost lines. Take extreme caution or you risk damaging some of those lines.
Move anything which is making it difficult to work around your windows (such as speakers). The more things in your way, the more difficult it will be to remove your window tint. Next, you will want to get a garbage bag and cut it so that you can cover the entire window with it after spraying the exterior side of the window with water.
Now you must get on the inside of the car with some ammonia, which must be used with the utmost in safety and care. Spray the inside of the window with the ammonia and then park the car in the sun. Do not breathe any ammonia in. Cover the ammonia with plastic as well to prevent evaporation.
The point of doing this is to get the glue on the window tint to loosen so that it can be easily peeled. Let the window sit facing the sun for an hour or so. After that you should be able to peel back the tint. Leave the bag on the window and use a razor blade to peel off the tint slowly, starting at the edge.
After you get the tint off you will have to immediately start on the cleanup of the window. Use fine steel wool and some more ammonia to get the adhesive off. Quite often the ammonia is only needed for back window tint. Side windows tend to be easier to deal with.
Then rinse the window thoroughly to get the ammonia off and clean with Windex or another glass cleaner as you would normally.
This is easy to do, but must be done slowly, so be patient and work carefully so you can remove your window tint all at once.
