There is nothing better than a glass of Scrumpy cider after a long day of surfing in Cornwall or Devon but there is nothing worse than trying to get dry and warm in an already damp tent. That’s why I no longer camp on my annual pilgrimage to the beach. This summer many surfing amateurs and pros alike will be headed for British and European seas, and more of them than ever are going by caravan.
Caravans are by far the best choice for a surfing holiday; there is numerous space for wet suits, towels and surfboards. I don’t have mine board but it’s much less costly to lease one for the week in place of a day. It is not just at a lower cost but you have the chance to really get the experience of the board. Hiring a board for the seven days is pretty challenging without a caravan; even a short board would be difficult to squeeze in a tent. This is one of the reasons why I feel like a pro every year, despite sitting on my board in the green waves and looking for seals for the majority of the day.
The problem with caravans is the insurance. It is easy to forget to check if their insurance can give them the cover they require. If travelling to Europe then you have to make sure you have the right European caravan insurance or else you maybe left less mellow than the average surfer when something goes wrong! Don’t let some uninsured driver make you miss the surf this year, get caravan insurance!
Surfing all day means leaving the caravan unattended. Any true surfing lover will realize that the early surf is the better. When all said and done who would like to share the waves with the foam board tourists? That’s why you ought to ensure that your caravan insurance safeguards your contents. Particularly if you have any second boards left in it! A great specialist caravan insurance broker will be in a position to talk you through exactly what your policy includes.
Surfers are intended to be worry free so let someone different do the worrying! Don’t leave anything to chance this summer and get the proper insurance for your caravan. Don’t forget that mileage, overseas travel and what you want to safeguard can all impact your cover so speak to a dealer that can find the right policy for you. Enjoy the surf!
It’s sometimes hard to get caravan insurance to cover exactly what you want it to. The best way to ensure that you don’t get swindled by your insurers is to use a broker that has good relationships with insurance brokers and who know their field inside out. Click on caravan insurance to go to Coversure’s website.

It was five years ago, on my yearly trip to Leeds Festival that I became a caravan lover. That year I didn’t have an early pass and was eager to find a place to camp before there was no space left when the strap on my main rucksack broke. I balanced it on my tent bag and trudged on through the, now fluid, mud. Subsequently this additional weight then broke the strap on my tent bag, leaving me stranded.
Luckily some friends of mine were nearby in the caravan section and helped me carry my things to their caravan. What luxury! It was only an inexpensive caravan but compared to my one-man tent in which I couldn’t lie down straight, even without my bag, it was brilliant. How jealous I was of their luxury caravan when I opened my bag to find half of my things broken and damaged by the fall in the mud.
The next year I was naturally in one of those dry, warm caravans and happily watched the other festivalgoers struggle with their bags. Evidently my luck hadn’t improved and the caravan flooded. Again my new Top Shop inspired festival wardrobe was destroyed along with most of other caravan.
Thankfully I’d thought to check that contents were included on my caravan insurance. We didn’t have to worry about the harm to the caravan and I would even say we enjoyed living in the damp for three days. In the end, it is all part of the festival experience.
Now we have annual caravan holidays abroad, which are ideal for a low cost holiday with friends. I wouldn’t stop my caravan holidays for anything and definitely wouldn’t risk an uninsured driver hitting us and spoiling our tradition. Since the flood incident I always make sure we have the right insurance cover for whatever country we happen to go to, it’s so critical to have the right cover for European travel.
If you have an RV then you have good taste, and really know how to have fun. Enjoy your motor caravan and go on holiday. But don’t forget that holidays are meant to be stress free; with our less than reliable weather this isn’t forever the situation. Get the right cover for your trip and have a good time!
You will need to make sure that when you go to your festival or off on your holiday that you have the correct caravan insurance to cover everything that could go wrong. Coversure are a trusted insurance broker with strong relationships with insurance providers. They will be able to get you the best deal on your caravan insurance.

Caravan owners everywhere are breathing a somewhat smug sigh of relief as they, unlike plane-hopping holiday makers, are not having to frantically check their insurance documents to see if they are covered for disruption caused by ash from a far away volcano.
What a great feeling it was, pulling my caravan home beneath planeless skies not even having to think about whether my insurance covered far-off eruptions. As a breed, it feels like caravan lovers all over the UK have been vindicated. Next time someone comments that caravan pulling cars are slow and getting in the way, remind them that during the Easter 2010 debacle, we could get from almost anywhere in Europe, to almost anywhere else in Europe faster than the average plane.
As well as that, most anti-caravan type people often refer to caravans as being tight and claustrophobic, but even the smallest of caravans would have seemed thankfully open and spacious compared to a spot on an airport floor or a single seat on a coach.
This is all, of course irrelevant within the caravan community; we like our holidays and you like yours. How tedious would the world be if we all liked the same things? However the reason for the somewhat smug nature of this article is that those who are not into caravanning often tend to poke fun at our choice of holiday, while we rarely, if ever, do the same to them.
So, although I didn’t incur any of the costs and inconveniences that the aeroplane fan-club did this Easter, I did have some additional costs, and not the kind that you can insure against either.
I took the a copy of Caravan Magazine with me on my holiday because we were thinking about buying a new one, and so had intended to browse over potential new purchases, but I ended up becoming engrossed in the insurance survey. It seems that because I never went to a broker to get my caravan insurance, I over paid for it - by a considerable amount. So if you’re in need of cheap caravan insurance it is well worth shopping around because there were lots of price comparisons in Caravan Magazine, some of which were quite surprising and are well worth a look into.
If you are looking to take out caravan insurance, but want to make sure you get the best deal, you should arrange it through Coversure. They are an insurance broker with excellent relationships with providers and can always secure a fantastic deal on static caravan insurance or touring caravan insurance.

Caravan insurance is available for both touring and static caravans, which means that no matter what kind you own you will be able to get ample coverage. In order to choose the coverage that is right for your needs I would like to tell you how to choose your insurance and of course what it will give you cover for.
The first thing you will need to think about is whether your caravan is to stay in one place or if it is a touring one that will be taken all over, this will greatly affect the type of insurance you need and your premiums. Think about the items you will be keeping in the caravan in the long and short term so that you will be able to give prospective insurers an idea of how much coverage you need for personal belongings.
Static caravans tend to also have outdoor furnishings and awnings added and as they are easily removed by dishonest people you will want to make sure that they are covered by your insurance also. You should ask your insurer whether this is something they will provide and of course ask at what cost.
You have more options if the whole caravan is stolen, as well as if a fire meant that it was no longer habitable. Some of the insurers will cover you so that you are able to get an old for new which is definitely worthwhile if you are able to pay the premiums as it will mean that you are not only able to replace the caravan with an updated one but also belongings inside and outside. Other coverage will give you the market value at the time of your claim.
Many people benefit from having this kind of insurance as it is definitely something that is not at the forefront of most peoples minds. Even if you are involved in an accident while the caravan is attached to your motor vehicle, you can imagine the kind of damage that could be caused by something so heavy or if your towing mechanism fails, by making sure you are insured you will have all costs covered even if you are proven liable. Without such coverage you could end up paying out a lot in court costs, medical bills and property damage.
People who choose to use the caravan as their full time residence will not be able to have the same amount of security as you would do in a house, although it has improved over the years. If you were to have everything you owned stolen or were victim to an arson attack you will need to make sure that everything can be replaced and this is why caravan insurance is a good idea no matter the time you wish to use it for.
Caravan insurancecaravan Insurance is one of the most important things that you should get in your life. There are tons of advantages that you should find when you get this kind of Insurance.

Caravans and motor caravans have made quite a comeback. We’ve noticed it in the insurance brokers, and I’m sure they’ve noticed it in travel agents and caravan parks too. It seems that in a drive to save money, people have turned their backs on costly overseas destinations. Official Figures suggest that an extra 5 million holidays will be taken at home this year.
According to the National caravan Council there are now 500,000 caravans in regular use in the UK by no less than 1.5 million caravan fans. Meanwhile, the Camping and Caravanning Club has reported a massive 21% increase in the number of bookings. Perhaps its a counter cyclical marketplace, but the caravan manufacturers aren’t complaining about the recession. Swift recently reported 12% year on year growth.
However, one thing that all of this means is that the roads are going to be getting busier this summer and taking more and more punishment from people driving up and down the country to and from their holiday destinations. All this will be combined with the beating that the roads took over the harsh winter. Everyone has noticed the big potholes that have sprung up.
There are times when I’ll be driving past a particularly large pothole when I wonder if I might see a kangaroo’s head pop out from it! These gaping cracks in the road must be causing damage to cars, bikes and indeed caravans. In fact, they are probably the cause of accidents as well.
Unlike car insurance, caravan insurance is not compulsory in order to take it out on the road, however it is highly advisable. Think about it, you wouldn’t drag any other valuable belonging of yours behind your car or leave it unattended in a park without insuring it would you? So I’m told, there are over thirty caravan and motorhome insurers, so it seems that specialist advice is available for those willing to look for it. My advice would be to get a broker to help you. A respected magazine conducted a survey and found that brokers offered the most competitive price, and also it’s good to be able to talk things through with a human, rather than just read pages of information.
If you are looking for caravan insurance, your best bet is to have a broker secure you the best deal that they can as many of them have long-standing relationships with the insurance companies and so can get you the caravan insurance for a much cheaper price.

If you are anything like me, your getting on a bit and you probably think you’ve seen the last of your summer music festivals with sweltering and uncomfortable tents as your only place to sleep. However, if you’re still into your music (I particularly like early 70’s bands like Soft Machine and Caravan) then you could always bring your motorhome (or someone else’s) along to a music festival and enjoy the music and the atmosphere without the rough sleep under canvas. You can listen to Caravan in your caravan!
What many people have found with the motorhome route that you get the best of both worlds really because you can enjoy the atmosphere of the festival and of course the live music, but you get a cup of tea every morning, there are no queues for toilets and showers and you have a comfortable, dry bed to sleep on every night!
Many motorhome owners rent out their motorhomes for just this type of event with most not realising that any such hiring of their motorhome for “hire & reward” purposes will not be covered under their standard motorhome insurance policy.
I remember seeing a couple at Glastonbury last year, blissfully leaving their motorhome in the sunny early hours of the morning having breakfasted under the awning, only to return late at night to find that one of Glastonbury’s famed monsoons had filled the awning with water causing it to twist, break and generally be ruined, That’s about 1000 worth of damage and all uninsured if the vehicle had been hired out without the authority of the insurance company.
It pays to think about insurance if you’re going to let your motorhome go to Glastonbury or any other festival this year.
Best start by letting your friends have it first if you’re not going yourself, especially if you have standard insurance cover. Your local insurance broker can advise you about cover if need be but adding friends or family to an existing insurance policy is definitely the best way to go. This way you can watch the festival from the true comfort of your front room safe in the knowledge that the motorhome that is your pride and joy is being properly looked after and if not, at least you know you have the right insurance. Now where is that old Caravan t-shirt?
If you are on the look out for motorhome insurance then you should check out Coversure, they are among the best providers of all kinds of vehicle insurance providing everything from standard car insurance to caravan insurance

Chester Cooke was a man who one day decided that he wanted to have a caravan on the banks of the river Avon in a perfectly situated caravan site that was professionally owned, well maintained and had all the amenities that he could ask for. However, he wasn’t the type to go spending the best part of twenty grand plus annual services on a caravan without properly thinking it through.
Chester then called his broker and explained to him that he was looking for some caravan insurance. His broker then told him that he would be more than happy to find him a quote, and so Chester gave him the details of the caravan such as the size, type and value, as well was where it would be situated.
A few minutes later, the broker called Chester back and said that unfortunately he was not able to find any insurance companies that would offer him insurance, not because of the caravan itself, or even the site that he had chosen, but it was to do with the exact spot that he had chosen. It was right on the bank of river Avon, which had flooded the year before, causing a massive number of insurance claims on the grounds of water damaged property, and so now insurers were very wary about insuring caravans that were right on the water’s edge. This meant that if Chester really wanted the caravan, and he wanted it right there, it would have to be at his own risk.
This was deal breaking news. It was highly likely that the Avon would flood again at sometime in the future and Chester couldn’t afford to take on a caravan without insurance. He asked his broker about these other “normal criteria” of caravan sites that he should look for if he was going ahead with his plan to buy a caravan.
Ideally the site should be a registered CaSSOA site. There are insurance discounts for these because they have minimum standards of security. If the caravan is to be sited more informally, on a farm for instance, the caravans on the farm should be in their own compound with a defined perimeter. Some insurers insist that there are a minimum number of caravans on the site, safety in numbers as it were. Finally Chester should look for a site with good security, a mature hawthorn hedge or palisade fencing marking the boundaries.
Chester hadn’t really though that the insurance would play such an important part in the buying of his caravan. He was just appreciative of his knowledgeable broker who could steer him in the right direction, after all, he just wanted to enjoy his caravan and the insurance was just to take to worry out of owning one.
Caravan insurance is one of the biggest factors to take into consideration when thinking about purchasing a caravan. Coversure are a leading provider of caravan insurance and can offer you advice, or a quote to insure your caravan

“For girls who go plump in the night” is the rather strange title of an album by 1970’s rock band Caravan, which is not the kind of thing you would expect an insurance man to know, even if he does actually own one, (a caravan I mean!) An insurance man in a caravan is probably not that unusual but an insurance man in a caravan listening to Caravan? Surely not!
Although I’m not entirely sure why I start thinking about this, I’m pretty sure it’s because I was looking back at some photos of last year’s Glastonbury festival the other day and I noticed just how many caravans were there in one get-up or another. Being an insurance man, I was of course thinking about the cover they had and whether or not the underwriters knew exactly what they were being used for.
If memory serves me correctly there were caravans being lived in, housing first aid helpers, acting as tea shops (and I don’t mean mobile catering units, I mean caravans, proper ones with curtains) used as rest homes for tired musicians and even as the home of paid for showers.
All over the camping fields there were caravans being used as shelters for security staff or meeting points for people who were lost, or as temporary accommodation for ageing rock fans who could either no longer handle the discomfort of tent camping, or who were just fellow caravan fans!
Of course, the musicians themselves are among the biggest users of caravans at music festivals, they usually use the huge ones with extra wheels on the front for steering and they use them for changing in, preparing for the show in, and then use them to indulge in general after-show rock-star behaviour which I think is probably best left to the imagination! I’m not sure if Caravan ever used one, I think that would just be too good to be true! Caravan in a caravan listening to their debut album (which was called, as you may have guessed, “Caravan”). Or even better, if they had arranged a convoy with some friends, a caravan of caravans including a caravan with Caravan in it listening to Caravan!
But anyway, before I started ranting about rock-stars in caravan convoys I was thinking about whether or not these caravans had the correct insurance cover and lets be honest, the answer is probably not. If you are considering taking your caravan along to a festival this year then it is well worth thinking about getting proper insurance cover for it. Caravans can be damaged in all kinds of ways, especially at festivals where the fun loving, free-partying atmosphere can sometimes cloud people’s better judgement and out of control festival goers and crowds and the like can do a lot of damage to your caravan, whether it is intentional or not. It could simply slide off on its own if the mud gets too wet, they can flood, catch fire, get blown away, and almost anything you can think of can happen. Fortunately you can insure caravans against more or less anything that could happen to it, even if it gets rammed into by an uninsured caravan being used as a refreshment stand!
Coversure are leading providers of caravan insurance if you are thinking about taking your caravan to a place where it would be even remotely at risk, like at a music festival, you should think about taking out some caravan insurance just to be on the safe side.
